Catherine Walker & Co.’s Autumn Winter 2019 Collection provides elegant, made-to-measure dressing perfect for fielding the cold, contemporary ‘power dressing at work and for feeling super glamorous throughout the party season.
Designed and handcrafted between two streets in London’s Chelsea, the collection embraces enticing, texturally rich combinations of opulent faux fur, laser cut intricate shapes inspired by nature, iridescent sequins, lace, embroidery and playful reinterpretations of the pin stripe –all rooted in the precision tailoring and fit that gives instant confidence to the wearer.
The collection also sees the House playfully experimenting with geometric shapes –from deep, plunging Vs to asymmetrical fastenings and peplums that swathe the feminine silhouette.
Excitingly – and for the first time ever – the British couturier has collaborated with The Royal School of Needlework to create a beautifully hand embroidered, glittering Swarovski Stardust Dress. Two second year BA (Hons) degree students were invited by Head of Design Said Cyrus to experience the inner workings of his atelier and co-create the magical evening dress – expertly applying dazzling crystals under gentle guidance. One of Britain’s leading independent couturiers for 42 years – Cyrus and his team have always operated as a close-knit team of 30 but welcome the opportunity to nurture future talent.
As always, Catherine Walker & Co’s highly successful e-couture service allows clients to place orders from anywhere in the world –and this part of the business has grown exponentially over the last 12 months, with orders welcomed from the USA to Central Asia.
